When your children are babies, determining where they will sleep when you travel is fairly straightforward. Most people opt for a pack n play set up when their kids are babies and this is great! But once your kiddo gets to be a little bit older a few problems may happen: they’ll outgrow the pack n’ play or they might start sleeping in a “big bed” at home and not want to sleep in the “crib” anymore and they climb out or you don’t want to put them in a pack n’ play for fear you might reverse any progress you’ve made moving to a big bed.
And when this happens you may be feeling like there isn’t a great option for a travel bed…enter the Hiccapop Toddler Bed.
It is essentially an air mattress for toddlers and I’m telling you it’s the best! It has two pieces- an inflatable frame of sorts and then the actual bed that nestles right in there that they sleep on. Here’s why we love it:
1. Portability
It’s much smaller and easier to cart around than a pack n’ play! It folds up pretty small when not inflated and comes with a carrying bag for easy transport.
2. Durability
The material feels super thick and while we’ve only had it a short while you can tell it will hold up well over time. And it holds up well overnight. You know you’ve slept on an air mattress that blows up great at the start and by the morning you feel like you’re almost on the floor? Not this one! The seal is great and my son has used it for multiple days in a row without ever needing a “top up” with the air.
3. Simplicity
It blows up easily and quickly. It comes with a pump and is ready in literally no time! Seriously, their site says it takes 30 seconds. I’ve never timed myself but I’d say that’s pretty close. And again it’s only two pieces so you’re not having to keep track of a bunch of parts. Just add a crib sheet and a pillow and you’re good to go!
4. Comfort and Safety
A huge step up for travel sleep from those hard pack n’ play mattresses. We know they need them for safety but man those things take firm to a whole new level. This mattress blows up very firm for safety but still is totally comfortable. My son sleeps just as well on this as he does in his bed. The “frame” includes raised sides that would keep your kiddo from rolling off if they’re a wiggly sleeper.

We’ve had this for about 6 months and we’ve used it all over! Even in our own home when we needed little man’s room for guests. It’s so simple to grab and go or pull out as needed, it could even make a great lounge spot in a play room. If you need a good travel sleep option, this is absolutely for you!
