Motherhood is rewarding but also overwhelming at times. It takes a lot physically, mentally, and emotionally to take care of little ones. Hopefully, these few tips can help you destress whenever you have feelings of being overwhelmed.

Go outside

It’s amazing how much a few minutes of getting some fresh air can change your mood. Take some time to think and relax while enjoying the outdoors. It can be something as simple as sitting outside for ten mins or going for a short walk.

Ask for help

When you begin to feel overwhelmed ask for help…Don’t be ashamed of needing it! Motherhood can be exhausting and having help with even the simplest of tasks can make a big difference.

Don’t neglect yourself

When becoming overwhelmed with motherhood it can be easy to forget to take care of yourself. Even if you only have a few minutes, practice some form of self-care. Give yourself a pedicure, read a book, do a ten minute-minute stretch, etc.

Journaling can help you gather your thoughts, as well as feel like you have more control over your emotions. Journaling can help you destress and clear your mind.

Make a to-do list

Having a plan of action for all the tasks that need to be done can help you feel less anxious . I find that making a list of a few things to get done each day helps me have a sense of accomplishment and that I’m steady making progress towards completing everything that needs to get done .

What are some of your favorite ways to unwind and destress?
