Before I head out on maternity leave it was important to me to have a plan locked and loaded for Father’s day since I will be in the newborn trenches when it rolls around. Here are some idea for spoiling the dads in your life that can hopefully give you a little inspiration!

  • Sometimes no plans are the best plans- for a dad who needs to unwind from a stressful job, a simple weekend staying home and eating some good food can be a great surprise. Refrain from asking him to tackle any house or yard projects and let him spend the day doing whatever he wants!
  • Let him sleep in. Normally my husband is up early to help with our toddler, but Father’s day is the one day he can sleep in guilt free!
  • I don’t believe in making the person being celebrated do any cooking on the day meant to spoil them, so plan to order or make dad’s favorite meal. Let him spend time playing with kids or fur-kids and relaxing.
  • Have the littles make him a card. This will keep them entertained and also create a keepsake he can hang onto as well.
  • Buy something special. If there is something you know he wants but won’t buy himself, now is the perfect time to spoil him. For my husband this meant splurging on a really nice designer tie I knew he’d never get himself.

How are you planning to spoil the dads in your life this year? Let us know in the comments!
