Baby sprinkles are cute, but for moms going on baby number 2, 3 or 4, cute baby clothes and basic baby care items aren’t usually what is needed most. While you still want to celebrate mom, what she really needs is an extra pair of hands or two (or five) to get sh*t done.
What is a Nesting Party?
Nesting parties are a great way to help parents prepare for their newborns arrival and take stress off of them during the first few weeks home. A nesting party is simply a get together at the mom-to-be’s home with some of her closest pals to help her prep for baby in whatever way she needs it.

How to Host a Nesting Party

- Create a guest list. With a nesting party you’ll want to keep it small and invite only close friends and family that the mom will feel comfortable with.
- A few weeks in advance, meet with the momma and find out what she needs help with. It could be prepping freezer meals for postpartum, assembling the nursery furniture, washing baby clothes, reorganizing the kitchen cabinets or a thousand other tasks. - Gather supplies. Ideally you can bring any supplies needed to the nesting party on the day of. While your momma to be probably has most of the essentials, grab some basic cleaning supplies just in case.
- Delegate tasks to each person to accomplish. You’ll be surprised how fast things will get done. If you are feeling crafty you can create a cute to-do list for the party and have everyone select their own tasks.
- Supply some snacks and drinks for after the hard work is done.
