I use every chance I can to make my little ones feel special and loved. Valentines Day doesn’t have to be just for your spouse. Making a little basket to get your kids into the day can be so much fun for them and you, especially when the Christmas magic has left and now the winter has set in. I try to get my kids practical items that will actually be used and I know that can be hard to find sometimes without breaking the bank. Today I have a bunch of ideas for you and I hope it helps you create the best baskets for your kids.

Themed Treats

Everywhere you go you will see sweets and treated themed towards Valentines Day. I try to avoid buying tons of sweets but will pick out a couple things my kids love. If you want to avoid sweets all together look for red or pink packaged snacks you would normally buy anyways.

Pajamas

Kids can never have too many sets of PJs right? Pajamas can be super custom to your child and the seasons. You can pick out different colors, characters, or just special seasons. They can run for tons of different price points, but personally I do splurge a bit on PJs for my kids because a lot of the winter we stay in jammies at home. Our favorites are definitely Caden Lane and they have tons of prints to choose from with new drops happening all the time.

Themed Crafts/Coloring Books

As a stay at home mom I am always looking for new things to keep my kids busy. I use the holidays specifically to really get into it and add little crafts or coloring books to their baskets, most of the time I do both. Target has little paint sets for $5 that go with the current season and holiday year round that we love. Amazon also has some really cute Valentines Day coloring books

Small Toys

If we are being honest, kids really do love the small things. I like to add little things to my baskets that are cheap but actually useful. Most of the time I find these in the Target Dollar Spot or the Dollar Tree.

Some of my favorites are:

  • Playdoh
  • Stickers
  • Stamps
  • Hotwheels cars
  • Figurines
  • Crayons
  • Flashcards
  • Books

Bath Things

Making themed baths for the holidays and seasons can be so much fun for the whole family. I love to add bath things like bath bombs, bath crayons and paints, or even toys like holiday ducks. These things can be used for your themed baths but also all year long. I love to find local shops that make incredible bath bombs but most stores will have some as well. Target has a whole section of fun colorful ones kids love. They also almost always have bath crayons, paints and themed ducks in the dollar spot

Cups

I think everyone loves a good themed cup and Target has the Zak! brand that always goes all out for the holiday kids cups. Cups make a great gift for kids because they do get used so often and end up needing to be thrown way after lots of use.

Thats my go to list of things I’ll be looking for this February. Will you be adding of these items to your kids holiday baskets? Did I miss anything you add to yours? Let us know!
