I am a firm believer that you feel better when you are wearing clothes that make you feel good…especially after your body has transformed so beautifully through pregnancy and now childbirth! Purchasing outfits that make you look and feel beautiful during the postpartum season is one way to make your life easier in the 4th Trimester.
I remember after having my first daughter, I was determined to squeeze back in my jeans and while I did it I looked back on pictures realizing how uncomfortable I was. During my postpartum time with my son and fourth child, I was so much more comfortable in leggings and flowy sundresses because I knew more about how to dress my postpartum body. Here is my advice for comfy outfits that are postpartum body and specifically nursing-friendly. Also, a few favorites I recommend for dressing baby with ease too!
Comfy Leggings
For postpartum and even post, postpartum aka MOM LIFE! I highly recommend HIGH RISE leggings!
Shocker, my favorite leggings aren’t even from Lulu and don’t cost an arm or a “literal” leg! I love these high-rise seamless leggings from Target, pronounced “TarJay” in our home.
I own every color and at least 3 pairs of the black ones so there is always a clean pair which is even more important during those first weeks with a newborn when you are already doing triple the laundry.
Cardigan and Tank Combos
For a put-together postpartum look, because you never know when someone will pop by, I always went with a comfy maternity tank because they were extra long and then paired that with a Barefoot Dreams cardigan for comfort or even a dupe.
This three-pack ribbed bundle of tanks from Ingrid and Isabel is the perfect staple to pair under any cardigan.
If it’s cold when you have a baby then you can pair these tanks with an open cardigan. Here is my favorite splurge one and steal version.
My splurge version that will last forever and literally feel like a Dream is from Barefoot Dreams.

My STEAL version is from Walmart and is by No Boundaries. It is equally comfy and flattering.

Cute Sets
I’m loving that Amazon has so many cute sweater sets these days!
Here are my top picks and these outfits will be comfy, nursing friendly, as well as, easy to grab and already meant to go together. The best part is that these come in so so many colors.

Flowy Smocked Sundresses
Smocked dresses are just perfect for postpartum because the chest area is both supportive, but also flexible when you are changing sizes throughout the day if you’re planning to nurse baby.
Here are my go to options for flowy smocked sundresses that can be paired with a cardigan if it’s cold out or just with some sandals if it’s warm when baby arrives. Again I’ve got my SPLURGE and SAVE option below.
My SPLURGE brand is Hill House! This dress is called a Nap Dress because it’s literally so comfy you can nap with baby in it, but the best part is you will wake up looking like a million dollars and like you have everything together even if you don’t.

My SAVE option is from Amazon and has so many of the same thing I love about the Nap Dress at a different price point.

Knotted Gowns for Newborns
Now that you’ve got some ideas for outfits that will keep you comfy and fashionable during the 4th Trimester let’s keep baby just as cute!
Gowns are my most favorite option for newborns regardless of gender because you are constantly changing diaper and knotted gowns just make life simple!
Caden Lane has the most beautiful knotted gowns and what sets them apart from others on the market is the ability to customize them with baby’s name to double as an announcement.

I hope this helps you and baby look and feel great during the fourth trimester!
