This gift guide is personally approved by my very thoughtful daughter who has diligently poured through every Christmas toy book and catalogue we have received this year. To narrow this list down I’ve included gifts that cover how we try to gift in our household. Something you want, something you need, something to wear, something to read and we add something to do for good measure!

Something They Want

These little interactive pets would make the perfect gift for girls aged 6-7.

Something they Need

My daughter is in need of some new luggage for when we take family trips.

Here is the set I’m snagging from Pottery Barn kids. I love that it can be personalized and that it will grow with her!

Something to Wear

Pajamas are the perfect gift for my daughter especially during winter months because not only do we try to live in them on days we don’t have plans, but they also double as a base layer on days that are exceptionally cold!

At Christmas I always try to have Santa bring a new pair of tennis shoes and this year I helped pick out this pair that are too cute not to share! They are a great deal from Kohl’s right now!

Something to Read

My friend actually gifted these to my daughter for her birthday and we have enjoyed reading them at bedtime so much that I wanted to share. We are almost done with Collection 1 which introduces the girls and a magical land where they visit. I’m planning to gift my daughter Collection 2, which she will likely start reading to me so she can practice her reading skills at night!

Something to Do

This is by far my favorite gift to select for my kids, but I like to personally pick an adventure that really fits their personality. My 6 year old daughter loves sports so I’m planning to take her to a college basketball game at my Alma Mater in January or February.

I’ve picked her out a cute little cheerleading outfit to put the ticket with.

Maybe you’ll see something on this list that is perfect for your daughter, niece, or any other 6-7 year old you’re buying for or maybe it will inspire you to think of something similar your recipient would love! I think the best gifts are tailored so honestly when all else fails pass them a toy book or take them through a store to “take pictures for Santa” to get an idea of what they would love this Christmas season!
