I know, I know…we just ended July. Hard to believe it, but back to school season is almost here and it’s important to prep early for a stress free transition. Here is how our household is setting up for success in the fall!

For starters, back to school prep early. The earlier you start, the less stressed you will be. Get organized and make a list of anything you’ll need to do or buy for the school season. This could be school clothes, supplies or even snacks. Once you have a list, take advantage of summer sales (Prime day, target circle week, etc.), shop early and save it for the school year.
Try to stick to a bedtime routine as much as possible. It can be easy to let bedtime creep later and later during the summer when the days are long and there is a lot to do, but start getting back to your routine early. This will make the transition easier for kids, but also for parents! 2-3 weeks before school starts is a good goal to start enforcing a school year bedtime.

Create a family calendar to keep everyone organized once fall activities are in full swing. We opt for a simple fridge calendar in our home, but some people love using app options.
Refresh family rules around screen time if you’ve let them slide during summer.

Lastly, Summer is a great time to go through kids clothes and toss damaged clothes and donate clothes they’ve outgrown. This is a great chore to tackle before back to school shopping for new outfits.
