School’s out and Summer is officially upon us! If you’re an expecting mother wondering what activities you can safely participate in this Summer, we’re here to give you our top 5 activities that you can enjoy over the next few months!

1. Going for walks

Going for walks is one of the best low-impact exercises a pregnant mama can do. If it is extremely hot where you live, opt for taking your walk in the early morning or in the evening when the sun starts to set. Staying active can also help you feel better throughout any stage of your pregnancy, so aim to be active as much as you feel like it!

2. Swimming

If you were worried about being able to get in the water during the hot Summer months, fear not! Swimming is actually a great form of exercise for pregnant women. It can also take a lot of weight off of your stomach and back, which can be super refreshing (especially later in pregnancy)!

3. Yoga

Yoga is a low-impact activity that can be done indoors or outdoors. If you opt for outdoor yoga, it can be a great way to get some fresh air and Vitamin D! Try combining another peaceful activity with your yoga, such as watching the morning sunrise or reading a book. Either way, yoga is a great way to clear your mind and get exercise at the same time!

4. Have a picnic

Another fun Summer activity that can be done with the whole family is having a picnic. This can be done just about anywhere, from your backyard to the park to the beach. Grab some of your favorite snacks and a blanket and soak up some of the Summer sun. Just make sure to stay hydrated!

5. Attend an outdoor game or festival

While you want to make sure you don’t overdo it, especially in the heat of the Summer, activities like outdoor games or festivals can be a great way to spend quality time with friends and family. Activities like ball games or music concerts are always fun options, no matter what stage of pregnancy you are in!
