Let’s face it, no matter how good of a gift giver you are, there are always instances where giving a gift card over a physical present is the best option for someone. Gift cards are a nice way to allow the recipient to pick out their own gift this holiday season, and with a little pizazz you can feel confident about giving someone “just a gift card.”

Gift Card Bouquet

A gift card bouquet is easy to customize depending on who you are giving this to. If you are giving this to a teenager, fill a bucket with some candy or chips and add your gift card inside as well. If you are giving this to a woman, roll up some fuzzy socks, include an eye mask or two in addition to the gift card and your custom “bouquet” is complete! Consider some of the recipient’s general interests when building him or her a gift card bouquet.

Brain Teaser Puzzle

Depending on who the recipient of the gift card is, it might be fun to make them work a little bit for their gift! There are a few affordable puzzle options out there, but this is a creative way to not only give the gift card, but to add an extra element to the gift as well.

Put It Inside Something Useful

This could be a zipper pouch, a mason jar, a mug, etc. Anything that could double as a gift itself would work best! If you want to go a small step further, you can also throw in some chapstick, chocolates, a warm pair of gloves, or anything small that the recipient can also use. The amount of effort you choose to put into the presentation here is completely up to you, but there is potential to really dress up a simple gift card this holiday season.

Picture Stand

This idea requires some effort on your end, as you need to find and print pictures, but it can be a very cute and practical way to include a gift card. You can choose to print off some selfies of you and the recipient, or pictures of their family, maybe even pictures they have taken from some of their favorite trips. Either way, include the thoughtful photos, but save a spot to include the gift card as well! Plus, not only did the recipient receive a  gift card to a favorite spot, they also now have a cute way to display some of their favorite pictures.

DIY Snow Globe

This idea absolutely requires the most effort of the list, but I wanted to include it, in case you really enjoy putting time and energy into each gift you give this holiday season. These DIY snow globes are not only an adorable way to give a gift card but they can also double as some simple holiday decor afterwards. You can customize the snow globe to fit the person, or to fit the gift card that’s inside.

If you are unsure of what to get someone this holiday season and you choose to go the gift card route, there is nothing wrong with that. Gift Cards are a great way to ensure the person is getting something they really want – letting them pick out an outfit, a gift, or treating them to a night out. You may want to do more than just handing over a gift card, and that’s where I hope you found this list useful!

Wishing you and your family a wonderful holiday season!
