These hot summer days can feel unbearable at times, but don’t let the heat keep you from having some fun! Here a five ways to stay cool in this heat:
Reusable Water Balloons:

Reusable water balloons are a fun way to stay cool in this heat. The awesome thing about them is that you can use them over and over again ,so you won’t have to keep purchasing more balloons. I love that they are easy for my young children to use. I recommend filling up a bucket with water so that your children can keep refilling them on their own. They are self sealing and splash upon contact. You will create countless memories while keeping cool!
Splash Pad:

Splash Pads are a great way to stay cool in this heat! There are many affordable options and they are quick to set up. On days where I don’t feel like waiting for our kiddie pool to fill up I get out our splash pad. All you have to do is attach it to your water hose to it and it’s ready to go within seconds. My kids love it and I do too! Another alternative if you are not wanting to purchase a splash pad is to see if any of your local parks have a splash pad area.
Fill the bucket Game:
Another way to beat the heat is by playing a game of fill the bucket. All you need is water, buckets, and sponges for some outdoor fun! Simply leave a bucket empty, as well as fill bucket with water. Then have your child use a sponge to absorb water from the bucket that is full and run to try to fill up the empty bucket by wringing out the sponge. If you have multiple children you can do fill the bucket races by seeing who can fill up their empty bucket the fastest.
Pool Noodle Fishing:
Get in some sensory play while staying cool in this heat! The only supplies needed are a fishing net, pool noodles, and a kiddie pool (bathtub). Slice up your pool noodles so that they become your “fish”, then let your little one get to fishing by trying to catch them with their fishing net.
Make Homemade Popsicles:
A tasty way to stay cool is to make homemade popsicles with your kids. You can cater the flavors to your children’s preferences. They are a quick and delicious treat that will help you beat the heat.
